Edward Malmborg , was appointed as Director of the Department of Workforce Development’s Division of Unemployment Assistance in July, 2006 after serving as Acting Director since April, 2006. His 37 year career managing workforce programs included time as Regional Director for the Department of Employment and Training in the Greater Boston area managing Unemployment Insurance and Employment Service offices, as well as time as the Program Director of the Employment Service and more recently as Director of Unemployment Insurance Operations prior to becoming DUA Director. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and earned an MBA from Western New England College.
Mr. Malmborg will speak to individuals and businesses in an informal and interactive session about The Division of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) including:
 • The Unemployment Insurance program
• The Medical Security Program
• The Work Sharing Program
• The Agency’s capacity to gather and disseminate information about the Massachusetts economy, its industries and its growth patterns.
In addition to the above subjects, Mr. Malmborg will discuss the Employer’s Role in Unemployment Insurance.
