Paul A. Magliocchetti joins the firm as a senior associate and will represent clients in the areas of business formation, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. Prior to joining the firm, Paul was a partner at Sheehan, Schiavoni, Jutras and Magliocchetti. Paul has represented privately held companies in a variety of industries, including high tech, manufacturing and retail businesses, and in all stages of development ranging from start-ups to emerging and established businesses. On Tuesday, November 28, 2006 - Attorneys Bill Norman and John Colucci were members of a speaking panel at a seminar presented by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education entitled “Practical Guide to Organizing a New Business.” Topics discussed included formation of a new business entity, drafting and maintaining business documents, fiduciary duties of corporate officers and anticipating exit strategies for businesses.
On November 16, 2006, in Salem, MA, MN&P sponsored a panel discussion of the 128 Venture North group entitled "Both Sides of the Coin: Investment from the Investor and Entrepreneur Perspectives", which provided insight into the capital-raising process from the viewpoints of the various parties involved. The panel included Jay Schwartz of Boston Harbor Angels and Fred Morris of Brook Venture Partners, to cover the investor perspective, and Bob Fisher of Edufusion LLC and Jim Norton of WAY Systems, Inc., two executives who have gone through successful rounds of financing. The panel was moderated by Ed Gonzales, a partner in the Firm's Transactional Department.
BEVERLY, MA July 19, 2006 - MN&P hosted the "kick off" to SBANE's Lay Off Aversion Through Management Assistance Program. Recently, the Massachusetts State Legislature appropriated $250,000 to SBANE for the expressed purpose of providing high-powered private consulting expertise to small and medium-sized manufacturers undergoing a business transition. This intervention is specifically designed to prevent lay offs at Massachusetts companies through targeted consultant assistance.

BEVERLY, MA OCTOBER 12, 2005 - To accommodate its present and anticipated growth, Metaxas, Norman & Pidgeon has entered into a lease to increase its current space by 50% percent, at its current facilities at the Cummings Center in Beverly. In 1999, attracted by the obvious potential of operating in a sophisticated business park, the firm relocated to the Cummings Center in Beverly and began to sharpen its focus of the practice on business law, including business litigation, real estate and estate planning. On Thursday, October 8, 2005, The firm hosted a North Shore Technology Council (www.nstc.org) evening networking event at Acapulcos Restaurant and Cantina in Beverly which drew approximately 50 participants. William D. Norman, one of MN&Ps founding partners, made a brief presentation at the function. The accounting firm of Brown & Brown, LLP of Boston joined MN&P in sponsoring the event, which facilitated new connections between members of the high tech, biotech and IT business communities of the North Shore and Greater Boston.
On Wednesday, September 28, 2005, the firm joined the American Red Cross in raising funds to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Mayor William Scanlon of Beverly, MA spoke at the event, which drew about 50 attendees from a variety of industries. The Cummings Center, which is the office park in which the firm is located, presented the Red Cross with a contribution in excess of $30,000, which together with donations from the attendees resulted in a total of more than $40,000 raised for hurricane victims. Acapulcos Restaurant and Cantina in Beverly graciously donated its facilities to host the event and provided refreshments and appetizers.
